To get 800 on math level 2, how many wrong answers can I make? I’m using Barron’s to prepare for it, but it doesn’t have any kind of a chart for score conversion…

43 out of 50 should do it. its a pretty generous curve, and the questions are easier than the ones in barron’s so don’t get discouraged

Well, judging by your english, which really isnt bad at all, I’m going to place you as an asian student? Therefore, by stereotype alone you will get an 800. The moral of this story being that you don’t need to worry, and that I am an idiot.

I believe it’s a raw score of 43 out of 50, but I’m not 100% sure. If you get fewer than 5 answers wrong, you should be fine. As Ramsfan said, the Barron’s book is harder than the actual test. (It covers some concepts that aren’t on the exam.) But I remember seeing some type of score conversion using ranges, like 40-50=800.

It could vary from 43 to 45 to get 800 depending on the test’s curve.

43 out of 50 might be pushing it…perhaps 43 as a raw score.

ROFL! Asians can get lower scores though, you know…those, we call “ex-Asians.” Shoot, you didn’t get an 800 on the Math SAT II? /thwack. You’re now an ex-asian.

If you’re using the Barron’s to prepare for it, what are you getting on your diagnostics?

Ha! Barrons = good fun. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t do well on the Barrons practice tests: they’re always harder than the real thing.

My advice is to just miss as few as possible. :)

Au contraire, mon frere, my advice is to get as many correct as possible. :-)

I’m getting 35’s on Barrons. OUCH!

Anyone recommend using anything other than barron’s? a friend mentioned that barron’s will only hurt your score because the questions are nothing like the real test, anyone agree? he suggested using kaplan or princeton instead…

Kaplan and PR’s tests aren’t really that much more accurate than the Barrons. Plus, they tend to be either a) easier than the real tests or b) harder in ways the real test isn’t. It’s not a bad idea to get two or three book to get a broad base of question types…

How about the Sparknotes? (this is for the june test)

Has he taken the Math IIC after having used Barron’s? At any rate, to each his own…but there is nothing quite like the feeling of “holy crap, this is easy.”

yea… I’m a Japanese student. I’m taking SATII Math 2 and Chem tomorrow!!!

He claims not to have used Barron’s and advises against using Barron’s at all…
I think I’m going to use Barron’s as my main book and then use the kap/princeton tests just to see where I’m at.

Thanks for the info!
