To go to the new high school, or not? That is my question!

I am junior who is planning on applying for ED Wharton next year. First I’ll give you stats:

Female
GA
Black
SAT: N/A take in Dec PSAT results not back yet
I have 3.8 GPA. I took AP US History last year and made a 4 on the exam. This year I’m taking AP Pysch, AP Calc BC, AP Lang, AP Gov, AP MacroEcon, and possibly AP MicroEcon.
I’m on the student leadership team, mentor freshmen, am involved in DECA which is marketing club but not in leadership position and unsure if I will be next year, am on the step team, and will possibly do track next semester. I’m also trying to get involved in Habitat for Humanity once I get a car. I one 2nd place at a state DECA competition and 1st in regional. Also, I have been nominated for the state governor’s honors program for social studies.

But,
My issue is the fact that there is a new high school opening up next year. Upcoming seniors have the choice to decide whether they stay at my current school or go to the new one. I’ve been debating going to the new high school but was wondering how it would look on my application.

The Pros:
The senior class would be smaller so my ranking would go up

More opportunities to be in a leadership position because I’d be a senior and I wouldn’t have that much competition from others who have risen in ranks

Opportunity to have a bigger influence in the school b/c my current school’s student gov has 500 members and unless you are an officer, your ideas aren’t worth s!&#.

New people to meet

The Cons:
I might not get the leadership positions

The school year might suck because all the people I know will stay at my current school

There might not be as big of a selection of courses and APs

Can you give me any more pros/cons? I know Wharton wants leadership so that’s my main reason for going to the new school. Also, any tips on what I should do to help boost my chances to get in? I know they only except like 500 people and I got nervous when I read about this Wharton freshmen who started her own fashion magazine in high school that became profitable. I DON’T HAVE A BUSINESS! Is that something they all have?
Please help me!

stay. here’s why:

your school has an established reputation so even a lower rank is more meaningful than a no-context higher rank

wharton wants consistency in EC’s: jumping ship and being an officer for one year is meaningless

What you said about AP classes

i know that wharton wants consistency in EC’s which i do have. i’ve been a DECA member since freshmen year but it’s more a bureaucracy in getting a position, in that the sponsor has to like you and know you personally. Also, my county has the county student leadership team where there are 3 representatives from each high school. I didn’t make it for my school, but there I could get a position instead of just being on my school’s individual team. Plus, I think that I have a lot of ideas and things I would start that I could put on my application. I know it matters more to Wharton that you have leadership positions than a bunch of different activities. I know my transcript is where it needs to be, if I can reach a 3.9 or 4.0.
But, you do have good point about my school’s rep because it is #1 in my county. There will be AP classes but perhaps not the specific ones I want to take like Art history and Environmental Science.
btw Is there anything else you would recommend that I do to increase my chances to get in, or what I need to do?
