When prospective students and parents are searching for an MT college program one question (among many) is usually asked: “Do they have a senior showcase?” Yes, I know Hartt has a showcase in NYC and LA (ATs), but I’d like to hear how it is run - by the university, or the students?

It is run by the faculty and the students.

I’m a freshman (well now a sophomore) at the Hartt school as an MT. From what I observed, Mike Morris, the music director helps choose the pieces to be performed. Joan Coates works a lot with Mari Lyn Henry, who wrote “How To Be A Working Actor” (it’s a great book). Mari Lyn is in close connection with various casting directors and agencies. She works with the students and the faculty to get the showcase as perfect as possible. She’s actually been doing this for a long long time.

I hope this helps…:D
