To include or not to include a 1?

So I got a 1 on my calc AP exam and I’d like to know if it’s dishonest to exclude this from your application. If the self-reporting option is, exactly that, optional, then must I include this horrendous score? The same goes for my SAT. I did MUCH better on the ACT, so I decided to send that score, but must I include the SAT on the self-reporting mechanism? None of my colleges require you to send both SAT and ACT scores.

I think you can definitely leave those off (the Calc AP exam and the SAT score).

Ok, thanks!

I’d definitely leave off the SAT. You don’t have to tell anyone that you took it (except a few rare colleges that want to know ALL tests you have taken). As far as the AP score, you don’t have to put it down on the CA. However, the college will see all of the AP classes that you have taken on your transcript. I have heard (on CC) that the college starts to wonder if too many AP scores are left off–ie wonder if the student got a “1” or a “2”. So the college may suspect that you did indeed get a low score if you do not write it. That being said, you are no worse off not writing it than writing it (because it is self-reporting–and the section on the CA says to “report your best AP,SAT-II, scores, etc”, and you could honestly say that one was not your “best”.
