To interview or not to interview, that is the question.

<p>I’m really nervous about if I should take up my schools optional interview offers. I really want to get into them, but I’m pretty sure I’m a zero chance applicant ([look</a> at them](<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1412855-i-have-no-chance-right.html]look”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1412855-i-have-no-chance-right.html)). I don’t want to waste my interviewer’s time. Plus I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I can tell them in an interview that I haven’t said on my application, plus most of my questions I have already had answered by friends who go to those schools. Any thoughts on the mater?</p>

<p>Schools: Washington University in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins, Emory, UChiacgo, Case Western, and Oklahoma City University (big time safety school).</p>

<p>Don’t feel as though you are wasting anyone’s time. You are an applicant and your application deserves complete consideration the same as anyone else, and that includes an interview. You have nothing to lose by going through with an interview.
Look at it this way, you are demonstrating your interest to that school and potentially providing them with more information about why they should take a chance on you. Given that your GPA is low, all the more reason to take the extra effort to do the interview.</p>

<p>Don’t miss the opportunity to sell yourself. It’s a big mistake to treat the interview as you propose.</p>

<p>Some of those schools are big on demonstrated interest. So you hurt yourself by declining the interview.</p>
