To Pass the Time--Status Change Theory!

I dunno. Judging by last year’s threads, it seems like the people who got rejected were stuck on the first status and never changed to the second status before they got “acted upon.”

you mean basically they were stuck at “review” the whole time and never got forwarded and then back to review?

Sort of… there was no “forwarded” status. The only update people got was “being reviewed” but the date on the status changed (they had date/time at the end of the sentence). So the equivalent of getting accepted would be getting “forwarded” then “being reviewed” again and so on.

So my d got letter saying no trustee scholarships, but could get others. Then had letter to submit grades, if she chose, so she did (since they were all A’s), then a booklet about how to pay for college, then for the past number of weeks we noticed her status was on being reviewed (not sure for how long it’s been there), but then today it changed to forwarded. Now what?? Regected since it didnt’ change back?? Ugh… suspense!!! Good luck to everyone!!!

I am not even at the “being reviewed” stage, so don’t have ANY clue what that means. I guess I could go back and see last years threads and not do my homework ;/

And the link still says unauthorized, and she can’t see anything special in the event box? Other than the standard 3 choices. UGH

balimom - no, her status might change to “being reviewed” in a few days. The links won’t be up for a few more days if she 's accepted.

This is hard!!! I KNOW it all must mean something! I think it’s a lesson in patience!!! Not good at that!

I’ve been watching you all the past few days talk about status changes and all that, but she was still on the reviewed stage… then all of a sudden today, her status changed… so it could be one of two things, obviously… dying to know which???

dreamupsidedOwn - Thanks for the info! Does it always seem to change back to review if they are accepted? And what has been the norm of how fast it changes and then changes back again?? Hours, days, weeks??? Thanks!

Usually a couple of days. For Thornton it’s about 3. For SCA it’s about 4. It varies by school.

Refer to “OFFICIAL School of Cinematic Arts 2014 Applicants/Results”
You will see some clear patterns.

Not sure until actual package on the door, but better than in dark. (even that is false light, will help to shorten forever waiting… )

@balimom

it depends. If you look at the “celebration thread” some had the forwarded statuses for only a couple days. Others had theirs for a month. Who knows. Best thing would wait until this Friday/Sat morning to see if her status changes.

school of theatre

balimom, my d’s status changed today also from we’ve received fall grades to forwarded for committee review. She applied BFA Theatre. She did not feel her audition went particularly well although she knows she is not supposed to “judge” it.

Another idea: “being reviewed” could have replaced the “acted upon” status because it’s a little more vague/subtle… not sure though. Everything at this point is just speculation. :)

Has anyone used the “back door method” and found that they had a pre-populated deposit form? If so, did you get an acceptance letter soon after that? Does this really mean you are in? My s tried it today and his form was there! His status also changed from “forwarding” to “being reviewed” today.

@ leilajean

My S’s status has changed as yours, and also backdoor method is working since yesterday 5 p.m.

But thourghout the CC’s, there are too many backdoor working cases. I believe the last wave the main one, hopefully, I’m wrong. Not sure who claim that one’s backdoor is not working did right to check backdoor method…

Wish all of us IN…

Keep in mind that most of the posters on CC are overqualified. So the CC applicant pool, as a whole, is probably more qualified than a random sample of students in the real world.

Although USC accepts a little over 20% of their applicants, the acceptance rate on CC will probably be a lot higher.
