To retake the SAT or not to retake the SAT?

Hi. I’m new here and I’m really only here to try to get some input on the above question. I’m going to be a senior in high school in a few weeks and I’ve taken two SATs with major improvement from the first to the second. The thing is, they were only a month apart and I did nothing to prepare for either of them.

May SAT: 1670

I don’t recall my exact scores for May but each score went up in June.

June SAT: 1930

CW: 640 M: 560 W: 730

Clearly mathematics is my weakest link. If I focus on my math skills(or lack thereof), I could potentially do better. But I also feel pretty content with this score and am afraid that the fluctuation I experienced before won’t yield the better results in October.

So my question is this; should I bother retaking the SAT in October or should I leave well enough alone?

The question should be whether your scores are acceptable to the schools you are applying to. If yes, then great you are done. If not, then keep studying.

Have you tried the ACT? Some people do much better in that than the SAT.

Depends on the schools you are applying to. (Chances are that you would improve your score if you knuckled down and did 3 or 4 weeks of serious prep/practice.)
