As a junior I had 4 AP Classes in my schedule, ( AP Stats, AP US history, AP Physics B, AP English Lang. ) with the following scores, 4,3,2,2. I want to retake Physics B and English Lang. (by self-study & I could ask my previous teachers for help…)

Now as a senior I am taking 2 AP classes ( AP Calculus, and AP English Lit ).

My questions go as follow

1) Is it possible to retake AP exams with poor scores? Should I retake them if it is possible?

2) Am I taking to many AP tests this year to study for? ( I am also in Academic Decatholon )

3) I also want to take Psychology (self-study), Spanish ( self-study, currently in Spanish 4 - non-native speaker, my teacher said I might be able to get a 3) ,Human Geography (self study), Environmental Science (self-study), & Art History (self-study)

I am aiming for 5’s in all of them (even though I’ve never gotten a 5 before )

I am doing this because part of me wants to increase my education ( and eliminate GE requirements ), but the other part wants to try to challenge myself and see if I can accomplish this feat and be ready for college.

Should I attempt this or is it to rigorous for me and I should just stop right now?

Now that my mind is thinking more rationally I realize that my initial thought was to just pack myself with tons of AP classes, but now I can see that it would be better for me to get a score of “5,5,4,4,3.3” instead of something like “4,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,2”.

I plan to re-take:
Physics B
English Lang.

And take:
English Lit.
Calculus
Spanish (maybe)
Psychology

1) Yes, it’s possible. You just need to pay $$$. “should you?” Sure, why not. Though I recommend just retaking physics if you feel like you do need to retake them.
2) There are people crazier than you would ever imagine.
3) Um, if you have time, I guess you can. When January comes, I think you’ll have a good sense of that. If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to self study 4 more exams.

I’m a freshman self-studying 5-8 APs this year.
So yea, that sounds like a pretty light courseload.
E-sci, psych, human geo are easy self studies.
Read the stickied thread about self-studying at the top of this forum.

As of right now I have decided to self study courses that interest me (with the exception of English Lit & Language which is a necessary foundation for college). Therefore I decided to scrap the idea of taking Spanish Lang.

The most current list is
Psychology ( self-study ) - Barron
Physics B ( self-study ) - Princeton Review ( I took the AP test last year and got a 2 )
Calculus AB ( taking course ) - Arco Book
Calculus BC ( self-study ) - is it a bad idea to do this because I am currently taking Calculus AB right now??? - Arco Book
English Lang ( self-study ) - ( took the AP test last year and got a 2 ) - Barron
English Lit ( taking course ) - Barron

I have Academic Decatholon as well; did I pick the best books for the respective subject. I only considered taking Calculus BC because the Arco book seems really friendly, lol.

Nah, it’s doable. The extra topics covered aren’t that much harder. Just make sure you understand the concepts. To do well on this exam, you have to practice, practice, and practice. Go through problem, after problem.

If there’s a topic you don’t get very well from your book, ask your teacher for help. To me, I usually learn better from teachers explaining rather than from math book.
