to send a resume or not to send

is columbia like stanford and dislikes applicants to send in resumes?

I am pretty sure that Columbia explicitly stated on the application “to refrain from sending in a resume” if I recall correctly.

it does say that. i hear that columbia is very picky about extra stuff (i.e. don’t send it)

My high school automatically sends resumes. Nothing I can do about it.

Columbia does not like resumes, so try not to send one.

(I agree it is pretty obnoxious though, because some activities require more description than in the space allowed)

I emailed my regional rep and asked if I could send in a resume that gave more detail on some of my activities, and she said she would be glad to review it. So I’m sure that if you contact them first and ask, it’s okay.

What I did last year is: I sent in a more detailed piano resume (like performance experience, awards, etc). I would send in a “specialized” resume if that’s what yours is…if not, don’t send it in. They’ll probably just toss it out.
