To "thank" or not "to thank" that is the question (D1OV)

I clearly did not think this through enough when my daughter was visiting schools last year!

Her first thought was to send a thank-you to her host, since the host gave up her own time. Regardless of whatever gift the host received from the school for hosting, it seemed like a very good idea (especially since the host is a potential future team-mate). Most of my daughter’s visit was spent with the team, not the coach. She did this via text or email - I don’t remember. She also emailed the coach expressing thanks for making arrangements, etc. She stated she enjoyed meeting coaches and team members and is looking forward to hearing back from the school. These were D3 schools, so they weren’t “OV’s”, just “V’s”, though I don’t think that matters at all.

As an aside and update my son is applying EA to an Ivy with support and LL after a tough decision. AND I am writing a thank you note to the set of coaches from the school he didn’t choose. I do think it’s good manners to thank people for their time and wish them well in their upcoming season.
