<p>Maineparent - I just got teary-eyed reading your post. DD is a freshman and I already have a sense of how quickly this time is going by. Thanks for the reminder to do those visits now, before it is over. </p>
<p>To new parents - try to figure out when you will be going with your child to move-in. If you are not close by for Parents Weekend, it is not a big deal, but for move-in it really helps.</p>
<p>Most kids do some kind of pre-orientation activity that can last anywhere from 2-5 days so it can be a little tricky to figure out when your student is arriving and when they will move into their college. BTW - move-in day is awesome. I could not believe all the help - even though I had heard about it in advance. The upperclassmen are really amazing.</p>
