Thing is my school counsellor barely knows who I am. What should I do ? Might this have a negative impact on my application ?

Btw I have been consulting with a private counsellor for over a year now. I emailed Cornell about this issue and they told me to have my most recent counsellor fill in everything. I don’t really understand how my private counsellor can “Attach applicants official transcript, including courses in progress, a school profile, and transcript legend” (quoted common apps)

Most school counselors don’t know all their students. The counselor provides primarily the information about your curriculum (available from your transcript and records), and your school profile. The profile is required so that colleges can determine what courses and resources were available to you, so, for example, a kid at a school that only offers 2 APs isn’t judged by the same criteria as a kid whose school offers 27.

As noted, the school counselor also sends your official transcript.

Have your school counselor fill out the forms. You can also give your school counselor a brief description of your ECs, particularly if they’re out of school, and your goals.
