to those who got rejected / deferred.

<p>i didnt apply ed to columbia… but i just want to say that i totally understand how hard it is to swallow the bitter pill… but remember that columbia college is a very hard school to get into… around 11, 12% admission rate… like that of hpy… so don’t feel down! esp columbia out rejects more than the others… a frd of mine who got rejected by yale ea got into penn rd and waitlisted by princeton and dartmouth! through the rejection, u could also learn your weaknesses! its better to be rejected, then those ‘polite deferred’… now u know that u should improe ur app… m/b it was cuz of bad recs, the way u presented urself, ur essays, ur resume, etc…</p>

<p>all im trying to say is that even though r/d are hard to take… you guys are all outstanding people who follow through your dreams… keep ur hopes up high! there are other school that might suit u better!!! and best luck!!!</p>

<p>^^ i agree. judging from the columbia A/D/R stats, the adcom mustve been smoking pot (and wanna make sure columbia stays unathletic). slip some rigged dice in there, thats what i learned.</p>

<p>don’t think you ‘suck’ if you are deferred or rejected… the schools all want to create a class by selecting individual… they dont want well rounded individuals, but they want a well rounded class… so maybe u just didnt seem fit to them… but u will for another school!!! dont get ur self too down! good luck everyone!</p>
