To What Degree Does an Honors Program help compensate for a lower GPA?

<p>I am sure being in an Honors program helps compensate for a little bit, but in my circumstance I am expecting a 3.3-3.5 this fall semester at UNLV. I am taking 15 credits and all my classes were honors except one. I am very disappointed but I am still hopeful in getting into USC. </p>

<p>-Judging by my scenario, how do i compare with someone who is taking regular classes and has a 3.75 (hypothetically speaking)?
-You guys think I still have a shot at transferring to USC next fall?</p>

<p>MY STATS:
HS gpa 4.55 weighted
1270 SAT
College ECs: Delta Chi Frat Risk Management Officer, Tennis Club, Job 30 hrs/wk</p>

<p>tough chances. UNLV is an eeeaaaasssy school. You should increase your stats + USC does not care about HS stats</p>

<p>well i am a freshman, so I am sure my HS transcript will hold substantial weight. yea i know unlv sounds easy, but the professors who teach the honors classes are pricks.</p>
