To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

^That sounds really bad. I’d constantly be ranting about how my one B destroyed my life. lol.

2009 Val: UC Davis, Sal: Idaho State
2008 Val: BYU, Sal: School in Philippines
2007 Val: UC Davis
2006 Val: Lewis and Clark College

We have lots of mormoms, leading to lots of BYUs, and lots of UC Davis. We did have someone get accepted to Stanford and go 6 years ago! Lol. Every year our Val applies and is rejected. I hope to not be a victim of that curse! I’m the first male in many years, so maybe it’ll be different!

Last year’s valedictorian got into all the Ivies except for Columbia. He ended up at Yale.
The year before that, the valedictorian applied ED to Wharton at UPenn and got in.

Last year’s valedictorian went to Muhlenberg ED.
Kinda weird since we had other people accepted at Princeton/UPenn/Cornell(ED)/Caltech.

2008 - Virginia Commonwealth Unniversity… (Got into All Ivys but Yale, MIT, Caltech, UVa, W&M) but she did get into the BS/MD program, full ride, paid to go there.
2009 - UVa (Not our smartest Val…)
2010 - I’m pretty sure this guy can get into ANY school, perfect sat, so many extras, magnet school, etc, etc…

mine went to uchicago, and the salutatorian had to choose between harvard & yale.

2008 - Amherst (waitlisted at Penn, Williams, Duke… withdrew from all 3)
2009 - Valedictorian (guy with the most perfect scores in forever) took a year off. He’s applying this year. Salutatorian went to Brown.

2008
Val: Stetson (took a gap year- i believe she went to Spain)
Sal: FSU

*The third ranked was going to the best school- Georgetown (WL at MIT; Denied at Princeton)
2009
Val: William & Mary (all i know is rejection from dartmouth)
Sal: UF

2010
Epic competition
It’ll be me or another girl.
Me: accepted CO School of Mines (backup); applying to five Ivies
Other girl: accepted ED at Cornell through gymnastics (though she is an amazing student)

we shall see.
although this is the 3rd graduating class and our first Ivy League acceptance. Yay :)

The majority (~50%) of our valedictorians/salutatorians go to a small, local college within about 15miles of our school. Most of the rest go to Texas Tech, Texas A&M, or UT. Last year, one went to Baylor.

My brother was valedictorian a few years ago and got in MIT. I, as salutatorian, got accepted to Stanford EA and most likely will attend. (The val this year is going to the same local college.) I guess my family likes to break from the norm. I believe we are the first from our school to attend either. People think we are crazy, but I see it the other way :P

Last year, our val turned down UPenn to go to Mcgill.

This year, the val may go to McMaster… I (3rd or 4th ranked) will go to Emory!

our school is having our 5th graduating class this year and all of the valedictorians in the past years(and me this year) are/will be going to Rice

I did ED but in past years they were accepted to schools like Yale, Harvard, JHU, Chicago, Cornell, and Columbia but declined their offer because Rice is just that awesome :P

2010

Val-will attend Lehigh or Pitt
Sal-will attend Cornell
3rd(me) Smith or Bama
4th- Slippery Rock University
our 18th is going to UPenn and our 20th is going to Swarthmore

08 Val accepted to Wharton ED, however a kid in the Top 5% (School doesn’t report exact rank) was accepted to HYPSM + Other Ivy’s, chose Harvard. Around 30 other kids with several Ivy/similar caliber schools admits.

Right now the most prestigious schools sought out by my top classmates is Northwestern followed by UMich and MSU.

Our (likely) valedictorian is going to Carleton College for creative writing. Yay for NOT science or math! =)

My school’s valedictorian has applied to St. Johns University with a community college as a backup. Yay for underachievement (and 1730 combined SAT scores)!!

Last year’s val went to Yale, and the sal went to Cornell. This year, the val is going to Princeton. I don’t know where the sal is going yet, but #5 is going to Brown.

Last year’s:

Duke, Boston College, UC Berkeley.

Our val and sal went to the University of Texas, number 10 (me) went to Yale. Class rank is not the most important thing.

Two years ago, the valedictorian was rejected from every Ivy League school and Ivy equivalent that they applied to and now they’re at Berkeley.
