Stanford. All he’s heard back from so far, but I’m assuming he’ll get into all of his other schools since his only reachy school was Stanford.

Mine last year went to Georgetown. the salutatorian went to Berkeley, entering as a junior.

I find it extremely funny how some people know exactly all the 10 + schools the val. got accepted too or the schools of the past 6 vals. But then again I go to a small school so I keep up with these things:

UCB

Olin

UCB/ Rice

Harvey Mudd

Weird how all the HYPMSC admits were NOT the valedictorian or in the 5% either!! Just shows you that top GPA doesn’t automatically mean you are going to HYP like people outside of CC always assume.

However it seems like a lot of vals on this thread are going to HYPMSC

Sometimes my schools vals get into top schools, but they usually don’t attend. Last year’s val is attending Loyola College in MD on a full ride, but was accepted into Georgetown and JHU. At my school, getting a high gpa only means that you were able to do all the busywork and please the teachers. The last vals to attend ivies were twin, african-american football recruits who attended Harvard and Princeton. I think they graduated from H and P last year.

So far this is the list of ED schools for people in the top 10 at my school…
-Dartmouth
-Stanford
-Penn
-Penn
Haha I’m jealous that they already know where they’re going.

Last year’s valedictorian went to University of Florida. I’m not sure about the the class before her, as that was my school’s first and was comprised of about 5 kids, but UF is the most well-regarded school anyone’s gotten into so far. (She’s the only one, as far as I know.)

I’m this year’s val, so I guess we’ll see how things turn out for me. So far, University of Pittsburgh… Won’t know the other results until March/April! (Argh, waiting.)

Last year there were 4 valedictorians (we all tied within .05 gpa so our school named all 4 of us valedictorians)

Stanford

Seattle University

Berkeley

Pepperdine

As far as I know only ONE person at my school got in anywhere early, and I’m pretty sure she’ll be val. She got into Yale SCEA! :)

Three way tie last year

Two are at Yale, one is at Harvard

Mine last year went to Columbia! Don’t know where else they were accepted though.

Ours applied ED to MIT and got in. So yeah.

One of ours got accepted to Yale (ED). He’s definitely going to Yale, but he’s applying to Harvard RD just to see if he gets in. :(

2 Way Tie – Duke and Wake Forest

Live in a small town in North Carolina

It is extremely RARE for one of our students to go to an Ivy.

Several years ago we had one go to Harvard (his parents were graduates) and one go to Princeton (perfect SAT score). One went to Stanford.

Usually here they go to UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke, Wake Forest.

My son is applying to all the Ivy schools . . . probably no chance . . .

My daughter’s school doesn’t rank but in the top % for 2009 went to:

Amherst
Bowdoin
Brandeis
Brown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Duke
Emory
Georgetown
Lehigh
MIT
Princeton
Stanford
Tufts
University of Chicago
U Mich
Penn
Wash U
Yale

(Harvard took 2 kids who were not in top 10% but in top 25%

2007 val to Yale, 2008 and 2009 vals to Harvard.

Ours was unfortunately deferred SCEA from Yale, which surprised but did not shock me. He had some nice awards, but I suspect the Indian bio-whiz-slash-future-lawyer pool is something of a competitive one over in New Haven

We had a lot of EA deferrals–apparently something of a tradition over at our school. May have something to do with the fact that our program is so young? Or the completely appalling lack of savvy over at guidance, sigh.

2007: Princeton
2008: Georgetown
2009: Middlebury
2010: Idk if I got the right girl, but I think Harvard or Brown or Princeton

2010: one is going to Claremont McKenna and one is going to UCB

The valedictorian at my school is going to Princeton and number 2 is going to Wharton.

this years University of Washington and salutatorian as well (because it was both there dream schools)
last year Yale and salutatorian went to Dartmouth (top 10 rounded out went to cornell, brown, 2 princeton, columbia, MIT, USC and BC

We have multiple vals and I don’t know all the schools for any

2008: Harvard, UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, Emory (w/full ride),
2009: Columbia, Loyola (in Chicago), Georgetown, Bowdoin
2010: UChicago, Dartmouth (LL), Northwestern. Sal to Yale, Harvard, and UChicago, among others. 3rd to Emory.

I don’t know a lot for 2010.
