To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

Our Valedictorians are

Me: Berkeley, Accepted to: UCI, UCSD, WL: Reed (My first Choice), Tulane, Rejected: Brown Yale Stanford UCLA

Other: Berkeley, …instate Accepted: UCLA, UCD…some more Rejected: No clue, but I’m pretty sure he was rejected from John Hopkins (First Choice)

Last: Saint Mary’s College, Accepted: CSULB, UCI, UCD, Drexel, St. Johns, Cal, She applied to alot of schools Rejected: Stanford (Her first choice).

Okay, some past valedictorians.

09: UCLA, UCLA, UCLA, Caltech,
08: Stanford, Stanford, UCD

I don’t know about the other years. Our school is rarely given credit for how difficult it can be, unfortunently, the kids that dont really care about school really reduce the merit of the advanced classes.

Our valedictorian is going to Princeton. Others were accepted to Princeton, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Duke, Dartmouth, Cornell, Northwestern, UChicago, etc. Bad year for Harvard though!

09: U of Chicago
10: Notre Dame

2010:
Val - Brown
2 Sals - one to American, don’t know about other one

Our school’s only been open for 4 years with 3 graduating classes; however, we’re a top-300 ranked public school!
All of the following listed got into UNC-Chapel Hill (we have a major feeder, almost 40-50 students get in every year)

2008 Val: Got into Harvard, but is attending UNC-Chapel Hill on the Morehead-Cain Scholarship
2008 Sal: Going to Duke, I have no idea where she got accepted elsewhere

2009 Val: Got into MIT and Stanford, but is attending Duke
2009 Sal: Got into Duke, but is attending Clemson on a full ride
*Number 3 got into Stanford and MIT, but is attending Duke (she’s only paying $5,000/year)

2010 Val: Got into Duke, but is attending UPenn. Took 8 APs Junior Year and got straight A’s and straight 5’s, but he worked like crazy
2010 Sal: Probably the smartest kid I’ve ever met, went to bed at 10pm every night (he’s not val because he had to take a regular-weighted leadership class in order to be student body president, but had 7 APs otherwise and got all As and 5s, along with a 2400 SAT). He got into Harvard and MIT, but is attending Deep Springs
*Number 3 got deferred at Harvard but was a finalist for both the Jefferson Scholarship at UVA and Morehead-Cain at UNC-Chapel Hill. She also got a full ride to Emory and partial to Johns Hopkins. She’s attending Duke on a $40,000 scholarship.
*Number 8 is also attending Duke on a $40,000 scholarship.

^Scholarship? Uhh, you mean GRANT right?

Our Valedictorion: accepted to Harvard, went to Georgetown

09: Northwestern
08: Swarthmore

I don’t know who our val is this year, and I don’t know the other schools that 08 and 09 were accepted to

the top 3-4 in my school all go to either harvard, yale, stanford or princeton every year

Deep Springs? Holy ****…

That’s some insane congratulations…

@Beretta9mm: I heard scholarship, which confused me at first since Duke doesn’t give those out…maybe I heard wrong and that’s probably the case lol.

@Foolfromhell: Yeah, Deep Springs. Some crazy stuff haha. I forgot to mention that another student in the first graduating class (2008) also attended there (he just graduated this year). So that’s TWO Deep Spring-ians :D

How many Vals do you guys have? I thought the general idea was one val and one sal. Do you have more than one because of a statistical tie?

2009 Val went to Harvard do not know about Sal
2010 Val going to Princeton
top 4 going to Columbia, MIT, UVA, Duke

I don’t know about acceptances, but we have one going to U Chicago and one going to U Vermont.

Golfer, if you don’t mind me asking, where do you go to school? I’m in NC and wondering what new school you go to. Is it an early college?

My school has had intermittent success with our Valedictorians:
'06: Harvard
'07: Barnard
'08: Maryland (full-ride)
'09: GW
'10: UCLA? Johns Hopkins? Unsure still… he’s taking a gap-year, so he has time to decide.

I don’t see any lack of success in that list.

I went to a small, crappy private school in Texas. Our 2010 valedictorian is going to Texas A&M. 2008 went to TCU and 2007 went to A&M as well.

I was the valedictorian in 2009 and was something of an anomaly; I got into Vanderbilt, UChicago, Notre Dame honors, Northwestern honors, and UT-Austin Plan II honors. I got rejected by Yale and waitlisted by Princeton, Davidson, and Dartmouth. I didn’t really care about Davidson and Dartmouth that much, so I didn’t put much effort into applying or getting off the waitlist, but I would have given my left nut to go to Princeton. Maybe even my right one, too, considering how little time I have for socializing these days. I also got accepted to West Point but permanently medically disqualified due to eye/vision problems, which sucked because I had spent quite a bit of time up there and thought the whole experience would be really cool. I’m not complaining, though. Even UT-Austin is a reach for pretty much everyone from my high school, so I figure I did pretty well for myself :)

My school’s victorian was accepted to Stanford, Princeton, Dartmouth, and a whole slew of others. She’s going to Stanford.

The valedictorian (at my first HS) when I was a freshman got rejected from H, Y, and S and waitlisted by P. He’s currently at Caltech. Then the valedictorian (still at my first HS) when I was a sophomore got into HYP and is currently at Yale. The two valedictorians this year (both at my current HS) are going to be attending the University of Michigan.
