To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

I’m val, going to Brown.

The guy who SHOULD be val (and everyone knows it), though, is going to Brigham-Young University.

Only one person got into an Ivy from my school this year. She got into Cornell ED, and was a legacy (her sister is currently a Freshman, and her dad attended), so that might have helped. She’s not in the top 25, but had killer scores.

The Val is going to Boston College, which is funny because his initials are BC. I’m not sure where the Sal is going, but #3 is going to Boston University. #4 is going to the University of Virginia, and #5 is going to Wesleyan.

This thread would be a million times more interesting if posters included the state where their high school is located.

You make it sound like he has a choice…

…he doesn’t

Makes me wonder how many students at Williams have a last name of Williams, last name of Brown at Browm, last name of Mudd at Harvey Mudd, last name of Adolphus at Gustavus Adolphus, last name of Cross at Holy Cross, etc.

Smith could celebrate its 200th anniversary by having an entire freshwoman class of Smiths.

i was class of 2008, but our val is at harvard, sal is at dartmouth, third is at princeton. we also have 5 cornells, 1 mit, another dartmouth, 1 penn. acceptances to all ivies and top 20s galore. my high school sends a lot of people to top schools every year.

what’s insane about it? the Sal is going to UPitt on a full ride+research stipend

the vals from the other two high schools in my district are both going to UDelaware on a full ride

We don’t have official GPA, but the person with the highest GPA got into:
SUNY Buffalo Honors
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Clarkson University
And a few others that I’m not sure of.
She’s attending UB Honors. It’s not that she’s not capable of getting into Ivy or Ivy equivalents, it’s just she didn’t want to and UB is really affordable.
Many people were tied with second highest GPA however, and they’re going to places like UofRochester, UChicago, etc.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
MIT
Stanford
Caltech
UT
we had like 2 kids get into Harvard, our school rocks :D

I was class of '09 and i went t a fairly new HS/ moderately competitive i guess…
Val: Olin
Sal: Case Western!? (over Duke, Penn)
3: UTexas
4: Harvard
13: Brown
Couple Rice admits (not sure of ranks)
Everyone else in the top 100 ppl (out of 450) went to UT or Texas A&M

Your typical Texas High school lol

My good friend is the valedictorian for the class of 2010 (just found out today) and she will be going to UGA (the only school she applied to).

My school’s valedictorian is going to Northwestern, while the salutatorian is going to UIUC.

Valedictorian got into:

University of Maine
University of New Hampshire
MIT, and I think 2 more smaller schools. She’s going to MIT.

Salutatorian got into:

Penn State
University of Maine
and, I think Northeastern, but I havn’t asked her about that. She’s going to the University of Maine (like me), because she got a full ride there and felt like she wanted to stay closer to home than going to, say, Penn State.

I know that my val got into Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon, Rutgers, UDel, and a couple other less well-known state schools. Applied to Princeton too (not sure if he was accepted though)
He’s going to University of Delaware Honors program.
Oddly enough, one of the top 5 kids at our school got waitlisted and rejected at a lot of the ivies he applied to- except for Harvard. He’s heading there this fall.

The valedictorian I our school got into Hunter Macauley Honors and our salutatorian is going to Cornell.

Valedictorian is off to Penn premed. He’s a smart guy.
The other top students are going to:
A girl going to Northwestern journalism. She’s an overachiever
One guy is going to Harvard… hasn’t shut up about it.
Another is attending Stern (NYU), he’s awesome, a really good friend of mine.
And a girl who does cross country with me is a recruited athlete at Dartmouth.

She got accepted to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc.

She’s going to Harvard. Only 2 people from our school have gone to Harvard in the past 50 years. I wish she wasn’t so nice so I could hate her. ):

^ Isn’t it good that she’s nice so you don’t hate her? I’d rather know a likable overachiever to one I despised.

our valedictorian got into dartmouth, duke, uc berkely, usc, cornell, johns hopkins, and more…
she’s going to dartmouth!

My valedictorian has just confirmed she’ll be attending St. Johns University’s Pharmacy program. The salutatorian, one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, shall be attending SUNY Binghamton.

College isn’t that big of a deal in my school, thankfully. Plus, the recent economic downturn has forced a lot of people into the position of passing up some really nice admission offers for the local community college, which is still pretty darn good, so people are treading very carefully when talking about where they’re going.
