today's google logo

I’m finding today’s google logo oddly mesmerizing…

does it mean anything or is it just fun?

As my D would say when she was younger–“Made you look!”

I wonder what it is that they are celebrating. Nothing noted on the Google Doodles page:

[Google Doodles: 2010 July - September](Google Doodles)

I found this about the logo: [Google Ball Doodle Debate Reaches a Fever Pitch - Tech Talk - CBS News](http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501465_162-20015764-501465.html)

Well, I had to look! And was fascinated that I could make the balls spring into motion by moving my mouse/cursor over them. But I’m sure you folks already knew that!

i see nothing :<

I’ve been playing with it all day!

i googled the google logo for today…

12 anniversary of opening their doors or some such thing. very fun!

I came across this article pondering the logo as well:

There are a coupl eof birthdays in my family this week - I thought Google made that log for them!

I liked the bucky ball one of a week or so ago.

I was just going to start a thread on this - it’s very irritating - waking me up from my online stupor.

I am addicted.

I like it too. I read an article one time about the person who creates those logos. it was interesting. They were saying how much they loved their job.

There was a piece on the people in the department that does the google logo doodles on a Sunday Morning not that long ago. Very interesting!

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/04/25/sunday/main6430407.shtml

You can play the video segment.

The buckyball logo a few days ago was pretty cool, too.

I just went to Google out of curiosity and it looks like the normal Google logo. Wah…not seeing what you are talking about!

soozievt, try refreshing your screen or try using a different browser. It’s still up (9:55 central time)

I like it! And soozievt, it should be made up of a bunch of balls, that go flying when you scroll over them. I’d ask what you were doing, but it’s not easy to mess up google.com.

sooz - if you have the firefox google home page (just a hunch) it will show up as regular, you have to go to Google

OK, here’s why it must not work. My usual browser is Safari (I’m on a Mac). It is just normal Google on my Safari browser. But I went to Firefox and opened up Google and voila…very cool.
