Odd because on my computer my last post says “Today at 10:16 pm.” Are we perhaps in different time zones?

My first thought would probably have been: Husband has been in an accident, he’s being held hostage somewhere, etc. I would be worried for them both, not “OMG, he left the kid in the car”
Did the parents communicate during the day? How did she know H was alive?

Yes, I believe she received an email from H. during the day confirming that she would pick up the baby from day care. (I don’t know if I read that in a news report or if was part of the testimony at the preliminary hearing).

But that would be typical in any case-- when my kids were small & in day care my former husband and I would usually communicate by phone multiple times during the day. (That was in ancient times before email and text messaging)

She hired her own criminal lawyer today.

Wait. So he emailed his wife telling her to pick up the baby at daycare when he forgot to drop him off and didn’t remember until he was halfway to the movies and couldn’t smell. Okay, right. It looks very bad for both of them.

@Flossy, no kidding.

There was some email or text (I forget) from the husband to the wife saying something like “don’t forget my little buddy” reminding her to pick him up.

There will be a 3 hr broadcast tonight on on of the local stations with opinions from local attorneys, etc. I don’t plan to watch it.

Interesting snipits from what are presumed to be his Reddit and Skout accounts <a href=“Internet Postings May Give Glimpse Into Life of Hot-Car Dad”>http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/hot-cars-and-kids/internet-postings-may-give-glimpse-life-hot-car-dad-n152296

Opinions from the legal arena:

My first thought would have been “Oh, I guess DH changed his mind and picked him up anyway.” Not, “Oh, he must have left him in the car all damn day.”

It’s proof of nothing, as you say, but in many cases it’s the numerous little things that add up to a whole lot.

My first thought would have been “Oh, I guess DH changed his mind and picked him up anyway.” Not, “Oh, he must have left him in the car all damn day.”

Same.

Well, unless they told her he wasn’t there all day, which is what I would expect them to have told her. But, I absolutely 100-percent agree that it is a very strange reaction. She also reportedly never even asked to see the child and her first question to her husband was, “Did you say too much?” Something is very wrong here.

Interesting comments from a friend of theirs.

<a href=“Friend of Hot-Car Dad: 'He Was the Ferris Bueller of Tuscaloosa'”>http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/hot-cars-and-kids/friend-hot-car-dad-he-was-ferris-bueller-tuscaloosa-n153156

I wonder if they planned to have him send her that email as a cover up. shudder

Well, I’m glad that PayPal is refunding the $22,000 in donations to the parents of this poor dear baby.

<a href=“PayPal Refunds Donations to Family of Georgia Boy Killed in Hot Car”>http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/hot-cars-and-kids/paypal-refunds-donations-family-georgia-boy-killed-hot-car-n153576

Wonder where the funds are coming from for defense attorneys? The couple were in debt and had financial problems. They now have two defense attorneys.

I’m glad paypal is refunding the money too. As far as the attorneys I’m thinking maybe ross or leanna will do a book deal and that’s how they will get some money.

If they are both convicted, not sure who would pay for a book deal or buy their book.

I don’t think the lawyers care. The publicity generated from big, national new story makes it worth their while.

Well maybe not a book deal. But I bet there will be at least a made for tv movie…

I hope not! The idea of anyone profiting from this tragedy is nauseating.

What are the laws in Georgia regarding profiting from your own felony?
