<p>MIT doesn’t have a preference for any of the tests they allow you to take. And if you take more than one in a category (if, for example, you took the TOEFL and the SAT I critical reading section), they’ll use the score that makes you look best.</p>

<p>But they also say “~ not speak English at home, we strongly suggest that you take the TOEFL.”</p>

<p>That’s because they’re assuming a student who doesn’t speak English at home will get a better score on the TOEFL than the SAT CR.</p>
