I’m a citizen of US but have spoken English for under 5 years. The MIT application says that it’s required that I take the TOEFL.
I didn’t sign up for TOEFL yet and I think it will get too complicated if i do. and it just costs too much.
Do I need to take the Toefl? or should i just lie that I’m a native speaker?

Even if you’re not a native speaker (or don’t consider yourself a native speaker), you have the option to take either the TOEFL or the SAT I.

If you’re happy with your SAT score, don’t take the TOEFL. It’s totally up to you.

Thank you. I didn’t look at the website very carefully…
