Tomato-less pizza recipies?

Does anyone have any good ones? I’m allergic to tomatos so regular pizza is a no go for me.

To make things a bit worse my family ordered one today and i’ve been wanting one ever since. :(

You can use a white sauce or spread the dough with pesto or hummus.

ETA: My favorite pizza used to be one with sour cream, red potatoes, cheddar cheese and broccoli. I also love California Pizza Kitchen’s Mexican pizza, which has refried beans instead of sauce, lettuce, salsa, cheese, and crispy tortilla strips. Be creative.

Sounds like you would like a “white pizza”.

Instead of using tomato sauce, simply drizzle a little olive oil (or pesto) on the crust. Top it with some mozzarella, some blobs of ricotta (if you like it), and some fresh basil. Sprinkle a little garlic powder on top if you like. Keep it simple or add additional toppings such as veggies or meat.

Shrimp-pesto pizza.

It essentially replaces the tomato sauce with pesto.

Soooo good. Use lots of garlic. :)

Google it, there are tons of different variations.

BBQ chicken pizza–Use bbq sauce instead of tomato sauce, top with grilled chicken, cooked bacon and use half mozzarella and half cheddar. (Beau Jo’s in Colorado adds red onions, mushrooms to their BBQ chicken pizza special. I like artichoke hearts on mine.)

Pizza bianca (white pizza) topped with mozzarella, ricotta and shaved parmesan. Then drizzle a bit of flavored olive oil on top before cooking. (I looovvvve black truffle oil on white pizza!) Add chopped fresh sage, thyme, oregano or basil after it’s done.

Santa Fe Chicken Pizza-- Black bean sauce with grilled chicken, green chile and cheddar cheese.

Thai Chicken-- Thai barbeque sauce topped with Shiitake and domestic mushrooms, caramelized onions, cilantro, mozzarella-fontina blend & smoked Gouda cheese.

I’ve seen pizza with garlic cream sauce, lobster cream sauce, ranch dressing, and green chile sauce in place of the tomato sauce.

Can’t have most BBQ type stuff because it normally contains tomatos.

Some of those sound soooo good <3

Chicken/Bacon/Ranch Pizza–my youngest son’s favorite pizza up near his college

^Here’s one recipe for it.

I like mozarella, a little olive oil and zahtar. [zahtar Definition in the Food Dictionary at Epicurious.com](<a href=“Epicurious – Recipes, Menu Ideas, Videos & Cooking Tips”>Epicurious – Recipes, Menu Ideas, Videos & Cooking Tips)

One we really enjoy is called “Mediterranean pizza”, sold frozen at a newish grocery chain on the west coast- Fresh & Easy. I can’t remember if it has a few pieces of tomato, but it is basically a crust with pesto, garlic (lots of garlic), feta cheese and cooked spinach.

LOL this is college confidential hahahahahahaha

Pizza without tomato sauce is like oreo cookies without milk.

:< i can’t help it, it gives me hives and sets my body on fire ><

Hives are definitely best avoided, as is having the body get on fire. Glad you are trying to eat foods that agree with you and sad your family didn’t accommodate your health in ordering the pizza. Did they at least order something you like & can eat?

H & many others have to have no cheese on their pizza (many act like they’re from another planet when they try to get no cheese or lactose on products, which is silly because many around here have that dietary issue).

here is a good site for some recipes

additionally , my mother makes pizza with just pizza sauce and puts toppings like veggies on it and it turns out ggood. or spinach and parmesan cheese pizza, or mexican pizza,
or perhaps

Nah, they didn’t. I’m gluten-free so i can’t eat whatever they would have ordered anyway. At least they’ve stopped offering it to me (which, mind you, hurt more than the thought of them not ordering). But, its just something i’ve gotten used to. I would feel bad if they limited themselves just for my sake. I really don’t mind anymore.

The thought of pizza made me crave it thus the creation of this thread :)

I can make my own pizza easily enough. Some of these ideas really sound good. :)

If you were to make an olive oil base pizza, how much olive oil would you use? Would you apply it with a brush?

Around here–New Haven, the Vatican of Apizza–there’s white, as noted, mozzarella (pronounced, “mooz”) without red sauce. The pizza to die for is Clams Casino (clams, peppers, bacon). If you’re not allergic to tomatoes, instead of red sauce try sliced fresh tomatoes.

For the ascetic pizza eater, you could try–an acquired taste–no mozzarella, but red sauce and anchovies.

I don’t make my own pizza but my favorites don’t have tomato sauce.
I like chicken, rosemary, potatoes, & garlic ( roasted whole) on olive oil.
Mushrooms, kalamata olives, goat cheese, roasted garlic, parsley, fontina & mozzarella cheese is another favorite. ( or was, I can eat tomatoes but I can’t eat wheat).

I love white pizza - DH grew up in New Haven and I love Pepe’s white pizza - I get it with mozz, garlic, and broccoli (not a clam eater). Lot’s of pizza places are including white pizzas on their menus now.

Our favorite is a French ****aladiere. Sauteed onion, layered with anchovies and black olives.

The first four letters rhyme with kiss.
