<p>ANNAPOLIS, Md.-Navy senior wide receiver Jason Tomlinson (Arlington, Texas) will be honored Monday night for winning the Philadelphia Sportswriters Most Valuable Player Award at the Army-Navy game at the annual Philadelphia Sportswriters Dinner in Cherry Hill, N.J.</p>
<p>Tomlinson’s 33-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave Navy its first lead of the game as the Mids went on to beat Army for the fifth-consecutive year and win a fourth-straight Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy with a 26-14 victory over the Black Knights.</p>
<p>Tomlinson will join an impressive list of stars on the dais including Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard (Outstanding Professional Athlete Award), the 2006 National League Most Valuable Player, West Virginia’s record-setting running back Steve Slaton (Outstanding Amateur Athlete), Philadelphia Phillies catcher Chris Coste (Good Guy Award), former Nebraska great and 1983 Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier (Native Son Award) and Rutgers coach Greg Schiano (Team of the Year). Legendary broadcaster Harry Kalas will emcee the event.</p>
