Tomorrow is halloween, are you handing out candy?

Yes. This year I bought mostly stuff I don’t like (first time ever that I am serious about not eating all the leftovers!)

We didn’t have any trick or treaters last year or the year before. No candy here. We aren’t even going to be home.

H didn’t like the candy I bought so went out and bought full size bars. So now we have candy and more candy.

We get around 60. Tonight we have thunderstorms but tomorrow is going to be nice so should have a good amount of trick or treating

Our entire community comes to our cul-de-sac. I have a ton of candy. I really enjoy making the treat bags, but it makes me miss my D since it was a tradition for us to do it together. Our porch is decorated with a jack o’lantern, orange and purple lights and some hanging animatronic creepy characters. The little kids love it. There are several houses on our hill, and the neighbors and I decided to make it a “trick or treat destination” this year. Fabulous decorations, ghouls and ghosts in the trees, a fog-filled graveyard, and a live witch with a cauldron. It’s going to be spectacular.

Meanwhile, I just decorated our boss’s office with a mammoth spiderweb and a motion activated ghoul that will shriek when she sits down at her desk. I’m hoping she arrives with a sense of humor tomorrow morning. Halloween definitely inspires the prankster in me. LOL

Just moved into a new neighborhood and was told that we get hundreds and hundreds of kids. Hopefully we don’t run out of candy. I have nearly 500 pieces.

Our old neighborhood was awesome on Halloween. Tons of kids…and almost everyone decorated their houses too. It was a great place, and even when we moved, we took our kids back there because they knew all of the folks on the street.

However, I do NOT miss handing out many hundreds of candy bars.

And it made our poor pooch (who could hear at the time) crazy everytime the doorbell rang.

Our condo mgmt. emailed us signs we could put on our door if we were interested in having trick or treaters. Though there are many kids in the community I’m not sure we will get many tomorrow. Most go to other areas or to the mall for trick or treating. I will keep a stash just in case.

Not many kids in my neighborhood now, but I quit giving out candy when my son left his dog (now my dog) with me 7-8 years ago. He is big and not always friendly. I was afraid he would get out the door when I opened it. Certainly don’t want a lawsuit for a dogbite, so I just turn out the lights and hide!

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday to prepare for. I love the simplicity of it. We live on a main corner of the neighborhood and I love looking out the door and seeing kids scurrying down sidewalks and across lawns. Lots of people drive TO our neighborhood to trick or treat. As long as everyone is nice I’m fine with that! Trick or treat is 6-8pm here. We generally get in the 150ish neighborhood.

Our town has T or T the Sunday before Halloween in the afternoon when it is still light out.

We’ve stopped passing out candy. I usually leave the house.

We have hoards of kids that come to our neighborhood to T or T.

Unfortunately, I’m just not into it. Get off my lawn!

Do those of you who leave the house leave because you think people will knock at the door anyway and you don’t want to have to ignore it??

We block the front porch, and/or put up a “No candy” sign on the front door.

This spares the kids a trip up our walkway, and the dog doesn’t go nuts for hours.

If I leave the house on a Sunday, it’s to hike or go to work.

Yes, I’ll be handing out candy. I couldn’t find two of the popular candies from last year. Crispy M&Ms and Hershey Symphony fun size bars.

We usually get 30-40 kids. I wish we got more. Our neighborhood gets a fair amount but we’re on the far end of our street and only 3-4 houses in our block hand out candy. So kids don’t always come down our block. There’s a decent chance of rain tomorrow so hopefully we get at least our usual turnout. We bought full-sized candy bars this year.

Our dogs are annoying so we usually sit on the porch during TOT hours, have a beer, and wait for kids.

If I don’t eat it all first, I’ll be handing out what’s left of the candy.

I am taking a break this year. I put up a nice spider web with candy bags last year and got eggs.

We have other plans. That’s why we are not going to be here.

I won’t be home, but D has decorated the front porch and has a bowl of candy ready.

We are a couple blocks from the most popular trick or treat area in town. We get our neighborhood kids early, then some spillover from the popular area later. The numbers are weather dependent of course, on a nice evening around a hundred.

I look forward to seeing the younger kids from our block.

We don’t get many but I have full size bars waiting for those who come!

Of course and full sized bars, too!
