Tomorrow is halloween, are you handing out candy?

Tomorrow is Halloween, most of us here don’t have little kids at home. Are you into handing out candy? Or do you leave and go out to dinner?

I’ll admit it, I’m not really into Halloween. But I live in a neighborhood and bought candy. I’ll stay home and pass out candy. My H insists that we hand out candy. I’d rather go out to dinner.

Lots of kids in my neighborhood. I have my Halloween flag up, and a with a pumpkin and witch outside. Two bowls filled its cndies nd chip, and another Costco box ready.

We never have anyone come to the door. There are a few little kids in the neighborhood, but I think many go to the organized malls or shopping districts. We have some bags of chips if we get our normal 2-3 kids.

No need. I’ve had one trick or treater in 35 years and that was only because her dad brought her up here to show us her costume.

I sure am! Three boxes of full size Hershey bars from Costco ready to go. We get a lot of kids at my house.
I love seeing the kids out trick-or-treating. I remember how much fun my own kids had and how much fun it was when I was a kid.

I would love to hand out candy. But we get no kids. So we go to another neighborhood.

I feel exactly you, @deb922 . One year I didn’t do it and felt like a complete curmudgeon hiding in the house. So, I have a few bags. I really don’t look forward to getting up and down for 2 to 3 hours. The next few years I’m planning on going out for dinner.

Yep. I have the good stuff, too.

@FallGirl , how much did that cost? The bags I bought at our grocery store had 60 mini bars and was $10, I purchased 2. We just joined Costco and I always forget about it.

My neighborhood is filled with kids, and I enjoy seeing them out having fun. I’ve got my candy ready, and will work on my jack-o-lantern tonight.

We now live in a high-rise apartment building with a small number of families with young kids. I asked the building manager if kids trick or treated in the building and was told that they don’t & those looking for candy can come to the lobby for candy the building provides. When we lived in our house, we were getting fewer and fewer kids every year.

Indeedy. We were out of town the past two years, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow night. Decorated the house a bit, but the main decoration will be lit tiki torches; the kids love it. My street used to skew older, but I’m thrilled to see young new families move in. I expect little neighbors in little costumes and it will bring back wonderful memories of when my kiddos were little and were thrilled by Halloween.

@conmama - I don’t know. H always buys the candy.

We rarely have kids as most of the neighbors are retirees. If we ever get one, we give fresh fruits instead.

?the three houses before us (last house on the lane) turn their lights off. I miss seeing the kids.
Have some candy just in case but not expecting anyone. I have a framed tarantula above the doorbell. Younger kids love it but the UPS man doesn’t LOL.

Absolutely!
Last year we had 110 night visitors. I typically make bags so that I can inventory for the following year. I didn’t plan for 110, but I ended up using Costco cheeze-its and other items. When I ran out at 60 bags last year and at 8 pm, we closed shop.

Our neighborhood is dark and spread out, so we don’t get any kids.

No candy this year. We’ve had fewer kids each year, and always too much leftover candy, which is just too hard to resist.

Of course! Historically, we don’t get a lot of kids but there do seem to be more young families in the neighborhood lately. Except for the Ring Pops, I only buy candy that DH likes!

Of course I will hand out candy.

I loved Halloween when I was a kid, and lots of generous people people gave me candy. So there is no way I would abandon fulfilling my end of the generational bargain.
