hi there! i’m a huge fan of BW and the program and the students and faculty seem too amazing. this may sound silly but… how is it not more famous at this point? to me it seems like the most well rounded, versatile, and killer program with the best combination of connections and training. how old is the program? is it still considered up and coming?

I believe one reason could be that you receive a BM vs a BFA.
Also, you can only audition on campus.

I think you’re wrong in assuming it’s not famous. Among MT professionals in the business, it absolutely is. Here’s a quote regarding their Senior Showcase in NYC this in 2013:

"Please join in celebrating the overwhelming success of our Music Theatre program on its Senior Showcase in NYC. BW students took the musical theatre world by storm earlier this week with a showcase that has raised the bar for top-tier music theatre programs across the country. Following the first performance for agents on Monday evening, the word was out. Our students performed for packed houses on Tuesday, and agent response was unprecedented. Two of our seniors alone received over 60 requests for interviews and resumes. Several of our students have Broadway and off-Broadway auditions yet this week. ALL of our seniors were called for agent interviews. Two received calls from Warner Bros. and another from ABC Primetime! Also, our students received an unsolicited invitation to perform tonight alongside Rita Wilson (Tom Hanks’s wife, and Tom himself will likely be there) at 54 Below, one of the hottest new cabaret clubs in the City.
