Yup. It’s not a typo.
I GOT A PATENT.

Sorry guys for keep bugging you asking all these chances. But I really wanna go to Stanford.

The problem is, I got a horrible ranking problem. I’m top 50% in my class! It’s one of the top high school in Korea, but darn, I’m not good in GPA.
Waddaya think? I know it will gonna kill me, but still,

yeah i’d say youre in everywhere

I seriously think that you won’t be impeded by your GPA.

I’m from an international school in Taiwan and I got into Stanford (your SAT I score is higher than mine - though I also had 1600 in CR and M). My extracurricular list, however, is nowhere as impressive as your’s.

However, I am an US citizen, so I don’t have to compete against those amazing Asian international applicants. I think you have an excellent chance at Stanford, even despite the fact that you’re an international app. I think the biggest factor that US selective colleges consider is English ability - most students that dare to apply outside of their home country to US colleges generally already have an impressive list of awards (IMO, BEIMUN, THIMUN, ISEF…etc.) but what really distinguishes them from each other is their ability to communicate in English (sometimes evidenced through SAT I scores), essays, and interviews. If you have a 2360 SAT, you are already a notch above most international applicants (I know a couple that were in Top 10 for Taiwan Math Olympiad (two even went to IMO) but had SAT scores of 500/800/500 - they were rejected from Harvard and MIT). Your list of awards will be more impressive than the average US applicant (and I think even with a lot of international applicants).

So relax, it’s really all about chance now. But you should ask yourself a big question:

How well were your essays?

I don’t think I’m an “OMG-GASP-YOU’RE SO AMAZING!!!” academic student; but I was notified early for RD without a significant hook or being an URM. I think this resulted through my essays.

You’ll get in somewhere, relax.

when do you have time to live…eat, sleep?

as a fellow korean int’l student, i’d like to wish you the best of luck. it seems like you’ll be a very competetive applicant for all those schools you listed- it’s a matter of whether they see you as a good fit or not for their schools. as mentioned above, the major thing that’ll set you apart is your demonstration of english communication skills, something that doesn’t seem to be a problem for you. and also, if you’re not applying for FA, then they’ll probably be even happier to accept you, although it will definitely cost you BIG time.

i’m actually interviewing at stanford in less than 2 weeks from now for their biosciences phd program. it’s also my top choice

just wondering, why do you want to go to stanford over the other schools? oh, and i wouldn’t worry too much about your safeties- 1 or 2 for you should be fine. some of your “reaches” are more like good matches.

Being ranked just in the top 50% could in theory be an issue. Most students (~90%) are in the top 10% of their class, and I bet that many of the remaining 10% are in the top 20% at least and/or at unusually competitive schools.

:O ur fab! i think ur in

VERY nice stats.

amazing stuff.

though i would drop this part:
“Successfully Defended 3 Goal chances of opposing team as a center defender”

the 2nd in nation is impressive, that last part not so much.

"Vice president - Music Group “Assorted Noise”

 • Organized musical selection of school radio for lunch hours"

…don’t know what to say…

You may want to shorten your EC list…this isn’t a diary…

But yeah, your stuff is pretty impressive. But I sort of get the feeling that a lot of these ECs are created at your school for the purpose of college apps. How many other people from your school are applying? Because that would affect your chance too.

You put Stanford above Harvard, Princeton and MIT…
