Too late for aid?

I got into a couple Ivies, but indicated on my application that I didn’t want to apply for financial aid. However, my parent lost a job and found a new one in the middle of the application process. This new job pays less, though we are still able to live rather comfortably. Now, we are reevaluating and thinking that we might qualify for a bit of aid (every bit counts). I know the ivies are very generous, and the rep we contacted at one of them said that it is still possible to submit the different forms (but I feel like this was just them saying that).

Is it truly still possible to submit the forms? Also, when my sibling goes to college next year, will I get a better aid package from the Ivy I eventually matriculate to?

None of us can help you. We don’t know how much a “bit of aid” is in your head, we don’t know how long your parent was out of work and how much “less” the job pays, and we have no idea what kind of assets your family has. Nor does the college know which is why they’ve suggested you actually fill out the forms.

So fill out the forms.

Yes. No one is going to grab your hand before you click on “Send” to transmit the completed forms electronically. Of course, what you really want to know is whether or not the schools that have accepted you will seriously consider your late request for need-based aid. The answer that blossom provides above is spot on.
