too late for dance?

So I want to start dancing…I used to dance when I was little, around 3-5 years…and i want to start again, i will be a junior in high school next year, 16 years old…is that too late to start?? i don’t wanna be like a dance major but i would like to start…

Definitely do it. Sure some people will be better than you because they have been dancing their entire lives, but if dancing makes you happy, then you should go for it.

You could start dancing when you’re 50, haha. You might not become some crazy national contest winning dancer, but if you want to do it, then you should. There’s even beginner’s classes in college, so people are starting even later than you.

You’ve probably heard that cliche- “It’s never too late to try something new,” haha.

its never too late to start dancing. may i ask what genre?

Hey! I’m in the same conundrum…I’ve been contemplating picking up dance again (haven’t done it since pre-school), and I’m the same age. Though I’m thinking ballet…hah

Me too! I love dance. Seriously, just go for it. When I was in beginning jazz dance class, I saw kids 12, 16, 20, and 30+.

yeah, i’m thinking ballet too??

wt f…ballet?..learn how to really dance…
if your a girl search “Patty Mayo” on youtube…
if your a guy search “dus10ten” or “khriskhaos2” but really if your a guy u dont need to learn cuz the girl just grinds on u

^^ what? is that suppose to be a joke?

anyways, you can learn any kind of dance you want -even ballet. just don’t bank on any idea of becoming an international superstar :)

I don’t think you’re too old to start ballet. However, you should evaluate your goals. Do you want to do it for fun? Or do you want to go en pointe/ join a company?

I danced for 12 years, and I think you’re never too old to try something that you want to do. But, that being said, it may be a bit unrealistic if you want to go en pointe or join a company. But, if you work really hard, you may be able to achieve the harder goals. Talk to a potential teachers about your goals and expectations and see what they have to say.

Good luck and be sure to have fun!
