too late start???

<p>basically i came here in the states in my soph year and i started very slow…getting 3.4 and 3.8 of gpa…which is not very impressive considering my expectation…
but this year im got 4.0 last semester and im managing to get 4.2 this year…
basically my gpa goes like this
3.4-3.8-4.0-4.2
do you guys know how much upward trend helps???</p>

  1. Consistently good grades
  2. Upward trend
  3. Consistently average grades
  4. Downward trend</p>

<p>Make sure the subjective parts of your application are strong (recommendations, essays, interviews, etc.), and have a couple of safeties (preferably rolling admissions) that you know you can get into. With a couple of acceptances under your belt it’s easier to apply to reaches.</p>
