I was just wondering if it’s too late to send in an appeal. Unfortunately I wasn’t even aware of what an appeal was until a few days ago I’m just wondering because I know they’re sending out wait list notifications tomorrow and I don’t want to send in my appeal if they’ve already decided to reject me :(

Yes, it’ll be too late if they send notifications tomorrow. If they send a waitlist rejection, it’s too late to appeal. :

It is never too late to try. Who cares if they just sent out notifications? Transfer students are not being notified until June. And anyways, think of it this way: you were wait listed, and you were waiting to receive a notification from the college of your status. You’re in a very uncomfortable position, unlike being rejected where you know immediately that you want to appeal the decision. IF you are rejected and you’ve got the motivation to do so, why not send an appeal? It certainly cannot hurt. You will regret not trying.

On the website it states if they send out notifications for the waitlist, you may not appeal anymore. If the mail time between the notifications and your appeal overlap (er, waitlist postmark before appeal postmark, even if you have not received decision letter yet), your appeal still will not be considered.

Unless you already have your appeal ready to go, you better get on it ASAP if you want to send an appeal before the final decision is sent out.

where does it state a deadline? I looked it up, and all it says is “any denied applicant may appeal”. S/he’s not technically denied yet right? So s/he’s got a right to appeal the decision as soon as the verdict is made, especially since the deadline isn’t obvious under the guidelines for special admissions page.

Go for it! The worst they can do is say too late, but if present a powerful enough appeal, there’s a chance you could be accepted! And don’t fret too much, you might be accepted now. :)

“If you are later denied from the waitlist, you cannot appeal again.”

Basically you can go and appeal as long as you haven’t gotten the letter, but it does take a while to put together a strong appeal, which I consider to have a personal statement, updated and official transcript, teacher recommendations, and updated resume/extra curriculars list. If you can get that put together ASAP and am very confident in your statement, go for it. However, talk to your teachers if you want recommendations ASAP! They have other things to do and may not be able to get them to you right away.

I’m pretty sure when it says you can’t appeal again applies only if you’ve been wait listed and you send in an appeal and both the appeal is denied and your final evaluation results in a rejection, after that you cannot appeal again. Basically I think it means you can only send in one appeal altogether.

But speedsolver is absolutely right, it takes a while to get together a strong enough appeal. Its not something you can just throw together last minute. But if you’re willing to put forth the effort, I’m absolutely sure they’ll at least consider it.
