Too late to start self-studying?

I’m currently taking 2 AP classes (English Lit and Microecon) but I really really really want to take another AP. I’ve only taken one (Human Geo) last year and feel like, as a junior, this is perhaps my last chance to take as many as I can.

I could study Enviro, Calculus AB, Euro, or U.S. History. Any of these seem possible to self-study for?

Out of the subjects you listed, I think AP Environmental Science would be the most feasible to self-study for at this point in time. Although I cannot speak from experience, many users on here have suggested that a 5 on the APES exam with possible with very minimal studying. I’m self studying APES this year as well and the concepts do not seem too difficult to understand, or even memorize for that matter. (I learned some of the material in 8th grade.)

Euro and US would be difficult to squeeze in by May, even if you love history. I could see Calculus AB if you really liked math, but otherwise, that’s also a pretty bad idea.

Environmental Science should definitely be possible though.

just follow your heart, don’t be influenced by other people’s opinions

AP Environmental Science - One of the easiest AP. The exam is basically common sense, plus a few extra concepts here and there. You could self-study it if you want.

AP Calculus AB - I do not recommend self-studying it unless you have a good math background. It’s one of those courses that is better off being studied through a class.

AP European History - It is self-study-able but know that you have to start studying it as soon as possible.

AP U.S. History - You can self-study it, but it takes a while to memorize the concepts.

I would recommend self-studying AP Environmental Science since it’s the easiest. However, it does depend on what you really like. If you are a strong math student, I say go for AP Calculus, if you are great at history, go for AP Euro.

Eh… the only one that actually seems possible to self-study at this point is AP Enviro Sci.

Good luck though.

You can definitely do this if:
A) you have no extracurriculars (a.k.a. you have time)
B) you are self-motivated
C) you actually possess some interest in any of these subjects

Euro- no. Chance: 1%
US History- no way. Chance: 0.1%
Calculus AB- depends on whether you are good at math. If you have the opportunity to take the class instead, do it. You’ll learn more. Chance: 40%
APES: I have heard of many people that study it in a short time and get 5’s. I will be one of those people [that is, if I get a 5]. Chance: 60%

Also, how are you taking English Lit as a junior?

Is AP Psych a possibility? (same situation). I took AP Bio last year, so I know the science part…

Psych is probably the easiest to self-study.

You are all depressing me for Euro. I took a regular Euro class last year, but I’m starting over again so I can take the AP Euro test … 64 days from now.
