too long?

well, of course it’s too long, but i can’t really pare it down.

my “why did you voluntarily leave school for an extended period of time” essay is a touch on the long side, about 900 words (and four photographs).
this may be overboard, but it’s the best piece of writing i’ve constructed in a long time, and it’s vital to my application. so, i guess the question is: are they gonna be really annoyed reading my grotesquely long essay? how annoyed?

I don’t know the answers to any of your questions, but ask your friend to read the essay and see if he/she is willing to read it.

bottom line is that it better be a good reason.

my friend?

it’s pretty good. it needs a little refining, but if anyone wants to read it…

and i should change that: it’s the best piece of first-draught writing i’ve produced in a long time
