Too Much Information?

I am an early action applicant. Recently, I received some great news - my math team got a grant sort of thing that I had applied for - $375, making the total amount of money I’ve raised for the team this year $572 (this money will go to competitions and textbooks for prep). I didn’t really mention this fund-raising at all on my application.

Also, I was self-studying abstract algebra and real analysis, but found it too hard to do thoroughly without structure, so I asked for and was given permission to sit in on Math 55 at Harvard! I am doing so, though I just started this week (and have TEN problem sets to do to catch up! eek! fun, but scary!) Also, the sitting-in is not official - I am not registered or anything, just doing problem sets, going to lectures, may have a chance to take tests. (I actually don’t even know if it is officially against the rules to sit in on a class without paying… but the professor did give me permission)

However, I’ve already sent a few emails with extra information, including a description of my job (as it is at a new math club that does not yet have a website, but at which I play a rather large role) and a clarification on another part of my application. I also sent a music supplement and a supplemental recommendation, filled out the optional creation essay, and had extra information to give in the “Extra information” section.

Should I send another (brief) email talking about the math team stuff and/or the sitting in on Math 55? When does extra information become too much? Would this sort of information be helpful in an admissions decision? When does information go from helpful to just annoying admissions officers?

I’d greatly appreciate any input on this. Thanks!

Actually, I kind of sent two music supplements - one for performance and one for composition…

I wouldn’t email- I’d type something formally, and then maybe fax it. That way you know formally what is going in your file.

I’d include it, because this is really cool stuff.
