Took a leave of absence during undergrad

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. I took a leave of absence during undergrad for a year and a half. I had some problems before I left that I sorted out while on leave. My pre-leave GPA is over 5 semesters and is 3.43. I just came back this semester and will graduate in 3 semesters. I’m planning on getting a much better GPA, maybe 3.8-3.9, for the rest of my time here. Even with that, I’m not sure my cumulative GPA would be more than ~3.6.

Is it possible to report post-leave GPA and cumulative GPA? I want to explain why I was having problems before I left, that I fixed them on leave, and that I did much better in school after coming back from leave. Would this make a difference to law schools?

Thanks for any help!

LSDAS will report all your grades, and your overall GPA is what will matter most. But an upward trend will help a little bit.

Double check with your pre-law adviser, but my recollection is that LSDAS gives a cum gpa and a gpa broken down by each year, as well as one by college, if you’ve attended more than one. That’s a long way of saying, I think LSDAS automatically does what you want to do.
