I am a junior and studying Bachelor of Social Work. I go part-time. But I took this semester off because I needed to take care of some mental health issues and that takes time. I now feel ready but I have to wait until Summer to go back. Luckily, skipping this semester will not affect my graduation date. I graduate in Spring of 2017, thats when part-time students graduate who started in Fall 2014. WIth all this said I really miss school. But I know I made the right choice for my mental well-being. I think missing this semester will help me jump right into Summer and do well. I love my choice of degree, I find the classes extremely interesting! Except for when I had to take Statistics, YUCK, glad that is over with! Thanks for reading. Feel free to share if you are currently not enrolled.
I took a semester off this year and towards the end of it found myself missing college. To combat this, I joined meetup groups focused on hiking, general socializing, and volunteering, as well as watched lectures posted by universities on YouTube. I also took occasional road trips on my days of work to see places I’d never been, or do other cultural activities.
Though I still missed school, the combination of those activities helped minimize the feelings.
