my family friend is looking to go to a top 10 mba school. she went to upenn for her undergrad. 3.2 gpa, didnt take the beaten path (serial entrepreneur with some failed ventures but now very successful), cancer survivor (age 26 breast cancer). if she applies to wharton what are her chances if she has a great letter of rec from a very senior faculty member and a wharton professor? what about stanford if shes worked very closely for 4+ years with 2 stanford mba alums that are extremely prominent in their respective corporate jobs and one or both gives her a letter of rec?
