Top 5 Apps On Your Phone You Can't Live Without!

Overdrive (e-library, my non-kindle Kindle)
Stitcher (podcast)

Clock

Waze, imdb, Wunderground, Google Translate, Clock

  1. WhatsApp (great way to stay in touch with S2; the video function is more reliable than Google Hangouts)
  2. Maps
  3. FB (these days, mostly for private groups of friends, quilting and genealogy, and to swap articles of interest with S2)
  4. Camera
  5. Twitter (mostly follow, don’t post much, easy to pass articles to S2)
  6. Instagram (mainly to look at S2’s pics, though he also posts some on What’sApp, FB and Twitter)

Yes, there is a theme – S2 is 5,000 miles away and he is being really great about staying in touch and sharing his life (within reason; there are some things I DO NOT want to know). I’m willing to meet him where he is, and so I’m on Twitter and Insta more than I would otherwise be.

Oh yeah Google translate was indispensible when we were in Hong Kong. I still use it surprisingly often. The last time was trying to figure out if mystery bottle was indeed sake. Scrabble stopped working on my old phone, I should see if I can get it to work on the current one.

  1. Facebook
  2. Words with friends
  3. GasBuddy
  4. Weather
  5. WhatsApp/Messages

We really use GasBuddy when we are on driving trips. My daughters and I have a group on WhatsApp. They post the craziest things.

Find My Friends. My husband takes public transportation home from work and I hate to burn dinner.

Among 3rd party apps that were not installed with the phone (not including email, camera, phone, Chrome, maps, flashlight …), my top 5 at the moment:

  1. Google Home
  2. Google Play (mostly for podcasts, use other service for music)
  3. Mighty-Text
  4. Amazon Alexa
  5. Weather Underground
  1. WEIGHT WATCHERS
  2. Google Maps
  3. Waze
  4. Wunderlist
  5. Watch ESPN

  • MyNetDiary (food / exercise tracker)
  • Weather
  • MapMyRun
  • Podcasts
  • List Ease - grocery list, synched with DH
  • flashlight
  • Credit union app... I finally broke down and learned how to remotely deposit a check on my iphone

I use email and text features a lot. But no Twitter. My Facebook activity is all on my Chromebook - I do not have FB on the phone.

So do your favorite apps tell your story? Your interests? I think mine do largely. Fitness, food, reading.
