My story is in the lesser used apps not listed to a degree. The most used are for daily convenience and travel.

I am too lazy. I use Safari to access most everything. Google maps is pretty much the only app I have. Boring, I know.

Phone functionality is an app, at least on Android phones. Obviously, it is typically a preinstalled app.

Pic Frame—create collage photos for printing
Snapseed—edit photos
My Radar—much better than regular weather app plus has hurricane feature
Card Shark
Day 1 journal—especially for travel.

What is “Our Groceries”???

I love apps. But I have to say I do get annoyed that every store or service wants you to download one to engage in service with them. I went to get an oil change last week - it’s always been an “express” one at the car dealer, no appointments just show up. When I got there I found out there was a three hour wait because now there’s an app and you can check in on the app, see your wait time and then show up when it’s your time!

I’ll know that for the future - and YES I downloaded the app - but not everyone is able to do that!

(1) Cozi. Family planner app. If a family event isn’t in Cozi, it doesn’t exist!!
(2) MLB At Bat
(3) Starbucks
(4) Toy Blast & Solitaire
(5) Wait-R (like Uber Eats)

Another WAZE fan here. Much better than maps in my opinion!!

  • Maps
  • local library app
  • alarm clock
  • Pinterest
  • am I allowed to say Dropbox?

^^^ guess not – it’s our cloud storage app, not “my favorite profanely-titled offensive game!”

What I’d love is a running tally app for when I’m buying groceries or something.

We toggle between WAZE and Google Maps. WAZE has sent us on some really stupid local road routes. It also is apt to tell you at the last minute about turns, but it does seem more nimble about local traffic conditions.

I’m about to download the MetroNorth App so I don’t have to buy tickets at the station.

Some of my favorites have already been mentioned. A couple that I don’t think anyone has listed, which I use for work:
TripIt - I travel for work frequently, and it allows me to organize everything easily
Concur - I can take photos of my work receipts to upload to my expense reports

@abasket, Our Groceries is a great app if you need to share lists. We’re now empty nesters but I remember several years ago wishing there was an app where we could list everything we needed at, for example, Safeway, that could be viewed by the kids, dh and me so that if one of us stopped at the market, that person would know what to buy.

Our Groceries does this. Dh and I both shop so we created a list for Safeway, Costco and Trader Joe’s but, of course, you can create whatever lists you want. We can both access it and keep it up to date so we know what’s needed. You just tap what you purchase and it’s no longer on the list. Very helpful app.

I don’t have anything cool. I’m sure if I asked my neighbor he would have some really cool apps as he is very tech-savvy and always has the latest and greatest stuff.

My unexciting list:

WAZE - use it daily for traffic. I have seen a lot of sketchy neighborhoods in the city thanks to its routing but have also learned some valuable shortcuts

LIBBY - for listening to audiobooks in car

MY FITNESS PAL/GARMIN CONNECT

My Bank’s APP

SAM’S CLUB SCAN AND GO - wow, this is a lifesaver. No longer have to wait in lines or empty my cart

When I was traveling for work this past week, I tried out the Sonic app. Ordered/paid for my beverage at my hotel before I headed out, then notified Sonic when I arrived and entered my stall #. It was wonderful! Plus, all drinks, any size and any time, are half price when ordering through the app.

@college_query

I love that nugget ice at Sonic!
