Top 5 Tips For the SAT

Let’s make a thread on the top 5 things that you keep in mind while taking/do to prepare for the SAT.

Mine:

 1. Eat before the test, and take snacks for during. Do not drink too much.
 2. For the math section, work backwards using the already provided errors. Makes things much easier. The first answer I substitute in is usually C.
 3. Identifying errors in sentences often has to do with a plural noun conflicting with a singular verb. (The players on the team were very succesful and is planning on going to Nationals.
 4. Skim read the whole CR section to get the jist of the article, and then read more carefully when trying to answer an actual question.
 5. For review I reccomend buying the pre-made set of 750 SAT vocabulary flashcards on Amazon (dot) com.

A lot of the math questions can be solved the regular way faster than plugging in up to 5 solutions…

I have to agree w/ the not drinking too much part. You should drink as much as you normally drink–no more. I drank a wee bit too much on the day of the test and my score would probably have been 30 pts higher if I hadn’t had to go to the bathroom… :)

Aw, that’s too bad. XD I’ll remember that.

Which set of vocab cards did u use from amazon?

And how much were they?

Word Smart by PR is also pretty good

I definitely agree with the eating part; one time, I was so hungry everyone could hear me starving. I think it distracted everyone, including me…
