<p>I’m looking for a boarding shool in california preferably near the beach where I would have free time to go around the city and spend some time with friends (preferably a school where dorms are mixed [boys&girls] so it makes life easier for couples)</p>
<p>Isn’t UC Berkeley very liberal? And I would assume that UCSB is the same.</p>
<p>UCSB does not have mixed dorms in terms of within a dorm room nor in bathrooms. One dorm hall has males on one side of the hall and females on the other (Santa Catalina) but I don’t know that that would make things any easier for couples. Other dorms have floors of all one gender or another, or else one wing all one gender, the next wing all the other gender. I believe UCSB does have gender inclusive living space in one dorm, but I believe it is aimed at transgender identification, not mixed gender housing. </p>
<p>& they are universities, not boarding schools.</p>
