Go Nina! (Top Chef).

As much as I don’t like Michael on Top Chef, I couldn’t believe they got rid of him over the other bottom place couple (team salads). Nina is TOUGH (in a good way!)

On another note, I LOVE arancini!!! I would have loved to try all 3 versions!!! (though true that the eyeballs was so Halloween typical…)

I’m glad someone else is watching. Might be time for a new thread.

I didn’t realize a new season had started! On Hulu I can only access the most recent episode. Is there another free way to catch up on missed episodes from the current season?

I tape the show, and watch early Thursday AM. I always fall asleep before the end. I thought Benny, with his tomato salad, should go.

i did think Nina should have suggested to Michael he try something else, or taste his food. Still, glad she stayed. I think she’s one of best.

Maybe you are right…

but go Nina!

Spoiler?

I can’t do this justice, but I can link to those who can.

Of course Linda W on Chowhound

And I especially like Hugh’s recaps.

I’m told Eater is not nearly as good this year.

(Please, no new infractions please! …but I wouldn’t mind being a badass…)

Go Nina!

Hoping for no infractions…thinking my days are numbered…

I haven’t had the chance to watch this season, but finally caught two episodes tonight. I really don’t like the new twist of having the chefs watch the judges’ comments from the stew room. It’s much more entertaining when the chefs are totally in the dark (and sometimes totally delusional about their performance) until they are fetched before the judges. And over the years there have been a number of times when Padma switched the order of the interviews and a chef was convinced he was being called in to be told he was in the top three when he was actually in the bottom. (Good times!) I also think the judges will be kinder knowing that their comments are being heard live, rather than months later when the show airs. Who needs a kind Tom? I prefer to see the losing chefs’ dishes thoroughly eviscerated! I’m sure the producers are concerned that the format may be getting stale, but I think Last Chance Kitchen changed it up adequately for at least a few more seasons.

Hope you will continue watching!

It seems this season that the show has finally remembered that they’re about cooking and not gimmicks. The chefs that do best are not only excellent cooks, but know how to follow the parameters of the show, particularly the specifics of each challenge and the time limits. It’s so nice to get challenges that ask them to use fresh local ingredients and not, for example, whatever you find on a ferry boat snack counter.

I have wanted to eat the meals from every challenge this year. It is a strong season this year, especially among the women, though this may end up being a season where the winner is the front runner all year. It is easy to root for several of the contestants this season.

Finally Patty leaves! Wow, how many times has she been on the bottom. If they would have sent Nick home I would have probably stopped watching - he’s becoming one of my favorites.

A few of these chefs really seem to lack confidence and I can’t see them lasting. Stephanie (did the artichokes this week), Travis - in fact EVERYONE on Nick’s team last night - wow, they were totally without hesitation relying on him to make the plans for the dishes and lead in the kitchen even via cell phone and while he was sick!

I would love to be at one of their events after a challenge to taste their dishes - yum.

Oops - you spoke to soon! Musical chefs? What a ridiculous stunt!

There have been quickfires in the past where one chef had to start a dish and another one had to finish it . . . and I remember those being quite interesting, as Chef #1 agonized over the strange direction Chef #2 was taking his oh-so-carefully conceived masterpiece. And the award went to the pair with the best dish - not just one of them.

But “musical chefs” was a joke. Obviously, the winners were the ones who lucked out and landed on stations that had already been occupied by the chefs who deserved to win. What a farce!

And I agree about the chefs being able to watch the judges’ commentary . . . the suspense of them not knowing was always more interesting.

I like that seeing the contestants watch the judges commentary. The suspense would KILL me so I wouldn’t last to cook anyway!!! :)

Musical chefs was a joke. The guy that one seemed to have no clue what he was doing as he stopped at each table and then lucks out with a nearly completed good dish at his last stop.

Yes, musical chefs was a joke. Sigh. The worst part was when they chastised/praised only the last chef. “You should have added something more.” What, in the last two minutes?!

Least interesting group of chefs ever on the show. No sense of personal journey and barely any sense of personality. The food hasn’t been impressive either.

Every season needs a Stefan!!! Where are you season 11 Stefan!!! :)

I think he’s out there hitting on every woman around.

Stefan is now on Millionaire Matchmaker
