Thanks!

wow on the music and scores. just wow.
I don’t know how much I can say since I’m just a high schooler myself but with those scores I feel like the lower ones on that list (USC, Vanderbilt, Penn) are pretty reasonable bets. From what I’ve read the other schools are coin flips.
chance me?

Seriously good chances.

darn you and your good scores.
all three science SATs?! really!? O:

basically in at vandy and usc. and really good shot at the others, and youll get into at least some [so hard to predict…]

chance back? ;D

Thanks! I forgot to mention:

I’ve composed some music myself
I’m currently in 6AP classes (7 periods in day)
My GPA is 4.4 W
National Merit Semifinalist

will it count against me that i didn’t have too many EC’s?

I think your test scores and GPA/rank are superb but the lack of EC’s will probably hurt. Applying to HYPS you’ll be competing against several thousand applicants with similar stats so EC’s might ultimately determine a decision between similar applicants.

However, you’re definitely competitive at all of your schools.

I think it’s good that your ECs show focus (music). I don’t know of the extent of your volunteering and other ECs, but having a few others would definitely be helpful. It’s nothing to worry about because your app looks fantastic and there’s anyway nothing that can be done about ECs at this point.

I think your GPA and SAT scores are great, but your ECs are somewhat weak…
If you write good essays on ECs, I think you can have greater chances.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/803462-my-chances-brown.html</a></p>

One thing about EC’s. Having a lot of EC’s is good but when you have 4 or 5 that you are really committed to it shows how much you care about certain subjects. What you did in community service is better than just helping out a lot of organizations. And all your music is better than being part of like 5 clubs in my mind.

jesus christ, you have high matches for all these schools
USC is a definite IN
congrats man:)

chance me? and be blatantly honest please:)
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/818418-can-i-get-into-good-ucs.html</a></p>

Would it be risky to talk about religion in an essay (I haven’t submitted some yet)? I talked about my church activities a little and what religion means to me…

no it wouldn’t be because it s your essay, and you are not making fun of anything or insulting anyone, you would be able to write your essay

bump, bump

wow!

Easy to get into Penn, Vandy, and So Cal with your grades.

For all the non-ivies, you have nothing to worry about. Make sure you show some attention to some ECs other band, HOWEVER your superb accolades in that may give you an edge. With all that being said, write some good essays for all and get some good recs. Congrats on your accomplishments  Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/816473-chance-aa-female-elite-schools-updated-stats.html</a> <–Include Yale also!

hey ivyleague2010, i think you have a good chance at most of these schools as well. out of curiosity, which state are you from? i know different states have different levels of all-state band…

I’m from Texas (I know that’s one of the more competitive states in band)

my last bump
