Top Liberal Arts College

I’m currently a senior in H.S. My GPA is going to be around a 2.8 when I graduate (Yes, I now realize I should have done better), and my SATs arent too great either. Also, as of right now I have no ECs or volunteer hours. I signed up at my local CC and I want to get out of there as fast as possible. As of right now my goal is to transfer after my first year or earlier to a good LAC.

I have not made any choices yet but I was looking at a few such as Franklin & Marshall and Hobart William & Smith Colleges. What goals in college should I meet to get into these schools or of equal caliber? Obviously a high GPA, but is there anything else I would need? Alot of ECs and volunteer hours right? What would be the standard “requirement” for total volunteer hours and ECs?

Mike, I am unsure on what would be needed ec wise, but I would just start to get involved in some community service and some clubs while at cc. Also, you might want to look at Hartwick (NY) which is supposed to be very good about accepting transfers. A few other good schools to possibly consider are Susquehanna ¶ and Drew (NJ). Good luck!
