What explains, then, the fact that divorce rates are just as high (if not higher) in the so-called “Bible Belt” of America? Of course, we may be seeing a confusion of variables in this case, but it seems to strike me as at least somewhat damaging to your argument.</p>

<li>Mid-life crisis - 13% (not in 2003 survey)</li>

<li>Workaholism - 6% (5%)

<p>I remember that source very well and I was tempted to use it until I check the source. It’s published over a decade ago, and seeing as many things have changed over the last decade, those stats should have changed. I’m really amazed at the lack of studies over the causes of marriage…</p>
