Top Recruiters

Which recruiting agency would you recommend to seniors applying for government related jobs?

Bump

You do not need recruiters to get a job at the federal level. The application process is pretty transparent, the roles posted on the various government websites will indicate what the requirements are and how to apply.

So CIA has their criteria, SEC has their criteria, FBI has their criteria, etc.

The career services team at the student’s college will likely have a lot of information about who looks for what (and it’s often not what students think it is). You’re fluent in another language so you assume the State Department wants you? Well- if that language is French or German, there’s a long line. Mandarin or Pashtun? Much better.

Etc. But the various government websites of the different agencies do a pretty good job of laying out how to apply.

Make sure (if you are a man) that you have registered for the Selective Service.

Thanks. Are recruiters any help with private sector for new graduates?

Your first stop should be your college’s career services office.

I agree to start with you college career center. If you do end up using a recruiter, do NOT use one that you have to pay.

Recruiters are generally hired by employers to fill very specialized positions that require some unique skill sets. It is not common for them to work with new graduates who typically have little to no work experience (beyond some internships). Your best bet is your college career office, as the others already said. And it is also true that government hiring is direct; one must apply through the official means listed in the position description.
