Top School Admissions Myth? Or Reality?

Someone recently told me that they heard this from a Stanford representative visiting our school:

Students who apply early decision tend to receive much less financial aid.

If anyone out there has any experience related to this, what do you think? Applying to schools like Emory, UChicago, Princeton, etc., do you think that applying early affects financial aid?

It depends on the school, I would assume. However, at schools that guarantee to meet 100% of need, applying ED should NOT affect the amount of need-based financial aid.

The schools you listed all meet 100% of need.

And to be precise, P & S are EA, not ED.
