Top Universities in Los Angeles, California?

Hey Guys,

What are the top Universities in L.A? I’m looking to do a Economics or Business Major so what are your suggestions?

Just need the names of a few good ones, still undergoing the SAT process so i don’t have any final scores yet.

Thank You

Ucla…?

claremont mckenna
UCLA
USC
UCSD if you want LA primarily because of the So Cal weather.

I agree that UCLA is a great choice. Another would probably be USC (University of Southern California). I would’ve applied but I had way too many apps this yr anyway :/. It’s a good school–and actually, has a desirable buisness program. If you want LA-style weather, also try Pomona and Scripps.

OP, are you going to ask your guidance counselor about this? She would probably give you advice tailored to your specific case–and I think you’d get a better sense of where you want to go after you talk to her and take your SATs. Are you a junior?

The top schools known for Business and Economics in LA are…
UCLA
USC
Pepperdine

I’ll add one more top school since Orange County is very connected to LA…
UC Irvine

Other good schools in the LA area, but not exactly known for business/econ…
Pomona College
Claremont McKenna
Occidental
LMU

Back-ups…
CSUN, CSULB, CSUF

Taking ‘university’ quite litterally, it’s just UCLA and USC. The best university in the nearby area is Caltech, but if you were the type of kid who wanted to go to Caltech, you’d have heard about it already.

For CSUs, there is also one in the city of Los Angeles, called (not surprisingly) CSU Los Angeles.

Claremont McKenna is definitely well known in business circles.

Universities:
Caltech
UCLA
USC

LACs
Claremont McKenna College
Pomona College

Claremont McKenna, UCLA, and USC would all be excellent for business/economics

Other good schools are Occidental and Pomona
