Colleges want diversity, right?
In my essay to Texas A&M (a typically conservative school), I was thinking of mentioning that I’m gay because it’s something that means a lot to me, would fit perfectly in the essay and shows personal growth.
However, is it not a good idea to submit it to A&M if I mention that I’m gay? I mean, according to ApplyTexas, there’s this:
“non-discrimination clause
Admission to any of the Texas institutions of higher education and any of their sponsored programs is open to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, creed, age, national origin or disability.”
But it’s possible that whoever is reading my essay could disagree with my personal choices and just say no.
Any suggestions? Please?
